“It is our duty to fight for our freedom.
It is our duty to win.
We must love each other and support each other.
We have nothing to lose but our chains.”

― Assata Shakur

Mederi Muzik promotes a radical music-based approach to healing psychological trauma, both individually and transgenerationally, integrating personal and collective action to foster respect and dignity in ordinary life. Music has been a vital part of our evolution since the Paleolithic era and is an integral part of our history as we experience life through vibrations. Through music, we examine culture, economics, identity, and decolonization, encouraging peace, spiritual development, and systemic change. Our approach integrates self-identity and a sense of mastery to reconnect one another with one's roots. Integrating socially dimensional healing traditions and practices through a rainbow coalition approach provides culturally-relevant and intersectional grounding.
